Hike to Little Belknap Crater, along McKenzie Pass [Central Oregon]

It’s like being on the moon!

Lava tube. Inside it went straight down where I couldn't see the bottom and had smooth sides [nothing to grab in case I fell]. My body literally broke out in a fear sweat just getting near the edge.

Check out this amplitheater at Johnston Ridge Observatory. Too bad it rained and the music was moved inside.

Music: Casey Neill

We’re currently on a Casey Neill tour. Music wise, he’s my fav. I saw that he was playing a 2 night gig in Long Beach, WA…which has the longest beach in the world (30+ miles along a spit). The venue is an odd one…playing at the very nice restaurant at the top of a hotel next to the ocean. Bands play there every night…so, while you eat at one of the nicest places in town, there is a band blasting away next to you. Casey was solo, but still loud. (Food isn’t very good, so tonite Casey offered to let us sit at “the band” table.)

After Long Beach we are headed to Mount St. Helens and Ape Caves for 2 days. In talking with Casey, he’s playing at the Johnston Observatory at Mt St. Helens on Saturday. So…serendipity…we’ll be seeing him again.

Do You Know CPR?

Spent all day in a CPR class to get certified. Who Knew there was 8 hours of learning involved…but now I’m ready should something happen to someone around me.

Music: Bahura Marimba Band

As we were walking along the river in the Old Mill, came upon the Bahura Marimba Band. They were really fun to watch, especially the two young women in front. I’m amazed they all memorized how to play the songs.
